Steve Aoki @ MAO Livehouse Shanghai 上海 2011-11-04

Steve Aoki brutally party rocked Shanghai 上海 at MAO Livehouse in the French Concession on November 4th, 2011. He banged out a set of largely his own material, and he took every opportunity to crowd surf, (sometimes on a river raft), and spray various beverages into the mosh. CRAZY! The M Asia brought Aoki's Dim Mak antics to SH and the following night to Beijing. Local support was El'se, Mau Mau, and The UHHH. Bubblicious 2011, Atlanta - Day 1 Photos (June 17)

Atlanta's Bubblicious 2011 was three days of outdoor rave, featuring five stages, over a dozen major headlining acts, a plethora of local and regional DJs and thousands of attendees. These are pictures from Friday night which introduced us to a world of thumping electronic music on foam filled dancefloors juxtaposed between disused commercial-industrial warehouses. This weekend was jam packed with heat at Zydeco Birmingham with a very special guest, Wick-It The Instigator. TKO Birmingham brought us amazing sets, performed by exciting fresh artists such as DJ Charles III, DJ Superpro, and last but not least, Wes Kane of the Bad Robotz. Here are some photos of the party. TKO Birmingham: W/ Wick-It the Instigator

I know you’ve probably heard about Nashville’s own Wick-It The Instigator. He’s got a reputation for doing some thoughtfully fresh and mindblowingly original mash-ups that take him from beyond a standard mash-up artist to a DJ/producer with skills that have turned heads and caught ears all over the Southeast. In a live setting, he sends people off with his mix of humor, ingenious pop culture samples and beats that can’t be touched. TKO Presents: DUB Squared w/ Reid Speed

Reid Speed has been a dancefloor destroyer for over a decade, and is second to none when it comes to heavy bass music rinseouts of all genres. She currently runs Play Me Records and Play Me Too, the United States' leading dubstep, drumstep and bass-of- all- genres labels while holding down a full production and tour schedule. As one of the first US DJs to champion speed garage & 2 step (which have become todays's fidget house and dubstep), her new label's quick rise to the top of the dance charts reflects her continually forward thinking musical evolution. Blüprint w/ Eliot Lipp

The Blüprint dance party is a developing scene in the greater Birmingham Area. Providing everything from House to Hip-Hop, to glitch-hop and Dubstep. Blüprint works as a collaborative effort between DJs and artists, with the goal to expose art and music on a level where individuals will not only appreciate something new, but leave the event with an inspiration to keep the culture alive. Each party is packed with energy and full of excitement. In the April edition of Blüprint they had a very special guest, Eliot Lipp. Eliot Lipp’s signature sound, a crossbreed of 90’s Hip Hop and House, 70’s Funk fusion as well as classic Electro, has and will continue to breakdown barriers and transpose trendy scenes. Whether programming Hip Hop beats, writing dirty basslines, collaborating with the likes of premier producers, DJs, MCs and musicians, examined by SPIN, URB, Pitchfork and other media or playing popping parties at clubs and festivals worldwide. Fusion is the most promising show so far for Birmingham in 2011 building on the success that was Love HZ in February at Crush. Of course Discotek Nights will be photographically covering the party.

One of the biggest events in 2011 so far for Birmingham nightlife was Love Hz at Crush. With three big promoters teaming up for the event, the party was a huge hit.
